In today’s economy, with so many companies down-sizing and even going under, you may be wondering what your next move should be in terms of securing employment. Well, the internet is certainly one area of business that keeps growing and growing and growing. And not only are people finding ways to stay in business, they’re actually making real money at running internet-based businesses. Some are even making millions and others billions. Interested in knowing more about these modern-day tycoons? Let’s take look at who they are and how they did it.
Search Engines
Sergey Brin and Larry Page, the owners and creators of Google, were estimated to be worth $43 million in 2004. Since then, their business has continued to grow and these guys are presently two of the richest people in the world. Their internet-based information system, Google, is now worth an estimated $155 billion with a stock purchase price surpassing the $500 mark. One of the reasons Google has continued to grow and succeed is while others tread water or fail is because their service has been disruptive by consistently changing for the better and creating new ways of directing more and more traffic to their site.
David Filo, who was actually working toward obtaining a Ph, D in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, co-founded and developed Yahoo! in 1994 and is presently estimated to be worth $3.12 billion dollars. And even though competitor sites like Google, AOL and MSN are giving Yahoo! a run for their money, so to speak, it’s managed to remain one of the most powerful and valuable search engines on the internet through joint ventures and other innovative concepts.
Internet-Based Auction
Computer Science graduate and creator of eBay, Pierry Omidyar along with his wife Pam, are estimated to be worth over $10 billion. Originally called ‘Auction Web’ at its actual inception, the eBay site was launched on Labor Day, September 1995 based on Pierry’s curiosity to see what would happen if all people had equal access for trading in a common venue. It has grown by enormous leaps and bounds since then with exceedingly high membership numbers in both the buyer and seller market, in addition to great expansions within their corporation as well.
Merchandising
Founder, President, CEO and Chairman of Amazon.com, Jeffrey Bezos, launched the site in 1994, after time spent working as financial analyst upon graduating from Princeton University. He was once quoted as saying: "I'm going to go do this crazy thing. I'm going to start this company selling books online". Well, if crazy leads to success, here’s to it! Bezos is currently worth $3.6 billion and is ranked number 70 on Forbes’ 2006 list of the world’s wealthiest people.
You don’t have to be a genius or even a college graduate to reach the levels of success these people have. One great idea is all it takes – so follow your dream, work hard and you never know – you could be the next internet billionaire!

Positive Self Talk
One thing that the Guru, Brian Tracy teaches, is to say to yourself, "I can do it. I can do it. I can do it", over and over to yourself when you face a challenge. Your self talk matters.
You can change your self talk by intentionally saying positive things to yourself, and by hypnosis, and subliminal programming. Look at www.financialindependenceuniversity.com for a lot more success tips.

If you are thinking about joining a mastermind, read this.

I told him, with all he knows about alternative health, he should get into that business. Questions To Ask About Investments
Ten Questions To Ask About Any Investment Opportunity:
With any investment, whether promoted in person, by mail, telephone, or on the Internet, a wise investor should always slow down, ask questions, and get written information. Take notes so you have a record of what you were told, in case you have a dispute later.
Is the investment registered with the SEC and the state securities agency in the state where I live or is it subject to an exemption?
Is the person recommending this investment registered with my state securities agency? Is there a record of any complaints about this person?
How does this investment match my investment objectives?
Where is the company incorporated? Will you send me the latest reports that have been filed on this company?
What are the costs to buy, hold, and sell this investment? How easily can I sell?
Who is managing the investment? What experience do they have?
What is the risk that I could lose the money I invest?
What return can I expect on my money? When?
How long has the company been in business? Are they making money, and if so, how? What is their product or service? What other companies are in this business?
How can I get more information about this investment, such as audited financial statements?

Protein Shakes
It dawned on me the other day...put plain oatmeal in your protein shake!
Oatmeal is very good for you and your heart.
Put a scoop of oatmeal in your blender with some milk and hit LIQUEFY.
Then add more milk, some yogurt, berries, bananas, maybe a bit of low fat ice cream, and some whey protein mix in your blender and you are set.
My friend Brian at www.healingthehopeless.com always tells me to use my juicer too.

What to do When You've Lost Your Motivation
Sometimes goals take so long to achieve that we start to lose the initial enthusiasm that sparked us to take our first baby steps toward that goal. You may find yourself questioning whether the goal was realistic. You may be feeling unmotivated to take the steps you know you need to take to continue making progress. All of a sudden, you find yourself distracted by other things that have nothing to do with your goal.
It is hard to motivate yourself. And in the short run, it is much easier to just give up. But you can't! Giving up only turns your goal into just another dream you've wanted to accomplish, and can increase your stress, frustration, and unhappiness with your life over the long term. If you've been dreaming about this goal for a long time, then it's too valuable to just give up on so easily.
So how do you find that motivation to keep going? Well, one thing you can do is go back to the source of your initial motivation.
What made you passionate/excited/interested in this goal in the first place? When did you first think about it? Why did you decide to take steps toward achieving this goal? How did you go about taking the initial steps toward your goal?
Take a moment to write in a journal about the beginnings of your goal. Where did it all begin and where did the motivation come from in the first place? This journal can be referred back to whenever you need a motivational boost.
Another idea is to go back through your initial drafts/business plans/ideas. Look over old notes and materials that you first came up with. Take yourself back in time to when everything was fresh and new and you could envision your future with excitement. That future still exists for you. Some of those old notes and materials may hold nuggets of brilliance that you haven't let shine yet.
Finally, another idea is to find a "motivation partner." It's very difficult to achieve your goals on your own. All successful people had someone to bounce their ideas off to keep them on track towards their goal. Enlist the help of a friend, mentor, or coach to help you stay motivated, keep your ideas fresh, and maintain your focus on the creation of your dream. Having someone you can turn to when you start to lose energy on the way to achieving your goal can be invaluable.
It's very common to lose steam on the way to achieving your goal. We give all our energy to it in the beginning and then reality sets in. This is when we need our energy the most. Try some of these ideas. Success is a more exciting journey when you're not alone.
I have been helping people reach their personal and professional goals for the past 14 years. There's nothing more satisfying than helping someone reach their potential for success. I would like the opportunity to help you reach your goals. I am a Professional Coach with a Ph.D. in Psychology and a specialty in Goal Achievement and Transitions. How I Became Wealthy
I got asked again today.
"Tony, how did you become wealthy?"
There's probably a lot of answers to that question but the answer I gave (and nearly always do) is simply this:
To become wealthy, you have to think like a wealthy person.
Every week, I talk to dozens of people who dream of becoming wealthy. They're tired of working more hours for less money. They're tired of never seeing their spouse and kids. They're tired of spending their vacation time visiting relatives and letting their kids play with their cousins.
And so they've called me to talk about becoming wealthy. And it's very easy for me to see which ones are going to actually succeed and which ones will continue to struggle.
I simply watch how they think.
For example, if someone is struggling to pay their bills and that is their REASON for why they're starting a business, that person will find a way to be successful. They're motivated. They're focused on a solution. They realize that -- if things are going to change -- it has to start with them. And they're committed to be successful.
On the other hand, if a person says "Oh, I can't get started in business, I'm too broke".....that person is already defeated. Because they are choosing to let their circumstances dictate what they can do. They will continue to use that situation as an excuse for why they can't be more successful. Which means that they are creating their own self-fulfilling prophecy.
I can usually call these people back in 6 months and they're no better off than they were when they first contacted me.
What's the difference?
It's how people THINK. This is what Napoleon Hill meant when he titled his book, "Think and Grow Rich".
Wealthy people think differently than broke people. They don't ask "can I?" They ask "how can I?"
One of my favorite authors, Ayn Rand, once said, "What do you mean who's going to let me? You mean, who is going to stop me!"
Back when Jessica and I chose to start our business, we were broke. We were living in a very small cinder-block house. We had no heat. I was earning less than $1,000 a month. We were a couple of months late on our rent. Our car broke down frequently.
But we believed things could be better. We believed there was a way we could become wealthy and start living the life we deserved.
When it came to finding the money to start our business, we could have easily said, "I don't have the money." But, what would have changed? It's not like either of us had a rich uncle who was suddenly going to remember us on his deathbed. Or that our fairy godmother was going to show up and hand us lots of money just because we wished for it.
No, we did what a lot of people do: we scraped and borrowed and did whatever we had to do. We sold things we owned. Jessica took a part-time job on a short-term basis. I did odd-jobs for a friend of mine.
And when we made the decision that we were not going to let fear or other obstacles stand in our way, things started coming together in a way that we could have never planned or predicted.
So, if the question is, "How do you become wealthy?" the answer is simply, "Start thinking like a wealthy person".
Would a billionaire every say, "No, I can't do that."? No. they say, "That's what I'm going to do" and they go find a way.
There are two kinds of people in the world: stoppable and unstoppable.
Which are you?

Research
Column By Bob Burg
-----------------------
The Power of Research
As you know, Winning Without Intimidation applies to practically any interaction and circumstance, from dealing effectively on an interpersonal, social level, to making a sale and even to looking for a new job.
This article will look at how we can utilize the power ofresearch in each of these categories.
Anytime you wish to move someone to your side of an issue,it helps to know as much as you can about their history, circumstances, likes, dislikes, etc. Yes, you can certainly determine these things when first meeting them through asking questions. However, finding out before hand gives you two advantages - One is that you'll know these things "going in" and will beable to prepare for your conversation in advance. The other is how good you'll make that person feel as they realize you took time to understand "what they are about." How good would you feel to know that someone thought so muchof their meeting with you that they took their valuable time to actually research you? (to avoid misinterpretation on this point, please know that we are talking in terms of what one would consider complimentary to have someone research about them; not private matters. If I don't clarify that, I WILL get letters.) :-)
If you're invited to a social gathering, find out from your host about the various attendees' interests, hobbies, political affiliations, families and more. You can then learn about some issues they may enjoy discussing (their travels, successes) and, keep away or tread lightly regarding those issues you know might cause difficulty. Research certainly applies to a sales call. Check out the company through the Internet, as well as those with whom they do business in non-competing areas and, with enough thought, even in competing areas. What are their corporate habits; what is important to them?- Quality? Price? Service? Relationship? A few of the above? All of the above? How does your company measure up? Can you find the answers before you meet with the prospect? And, research the actual prospect to whom you'll present. Who do you know who knows him or her? Research her background. Does he have a family? What are her values? All this and more can be discovered so that you are ready to build a rapport quickly and effectively.
Is there some work involved in this? Absolutely... and it's work your competitors are probably not doing. In his bestselling book, "Never Eat Alone.", Keith Ferrazzi madesome excellent and compelling points regarding the value of this kind of research. In today's market, looking for a job is important enough toensure you have the edge. I remember when I was "young"(okay, no wisecracks, please) and looking for a job with aparticular company, Dad would always suggest I go to the library to gather information on that company, its history, the main players, etc.Of course, now all we typically need do is run a search onthe Internet. We can also research by asking others -possibly people who work there or have worked there in the past. If you don't know those others, you can network yourway to meeting them . Winning Without Intimidation almost always comes down to making others feel good about themselves. Making a good initial impression and positioning yourself for success with that person is always easier when you have information in advance. And, for this, simply apply the power of research.__________

Four Mind Control Secrets for Success
Mind control tricks often conjure negative images of people who achieve their goals at the expense of others through the use of techniques such as hypnosis. Such a judgment of mind control tricks is in many cases a sweeping statement and is untrue. In any case, the mind is an extremely powerful tool. According to Einstein, most human being use no more than 10% of his or her brain at any point in time throughout his or her lifetime. In this respect, mind control tricks can be used to develop success for you in life by allowing you to gain control and make better use of that unutilized 90% of your brain.
One of the most popular mind control tricks would be self hypnosis. This method of hypnosis is used to reprogram the brain with the subconscious mind and should be done positively to generate positive affirmations towards your subconscious mind. What we mean here is to make use of positive thoughts and emotions in order to program your subconscious mind in positive ways. This could be done through either a home-made hypnosis method or the purchase of a hypnosis CD available on the internet. For the former, relaxation and focus is the key as you speak and write positive affirmations in present tense. For the latter, follow the instructions in the CD. Generally it is recommended that you listen to such CDs in a relaxing environment which would allow you to keep your full attention on the hypnosis process.
Another helpful trick that is suitable especially for people who have plenty to remember in their day to day activities would be the use of mnemonics. This is a useful technique of memory retention and can take the form of either pictures, words or other similar associations. Using the first alphabet of each task to form a word can also be done for people who have many things to remember. Such methods are vital when you are caught with a situation where you do not have the ability to jot down the numerous tasks awaiting you.
A third way of controlling your mind to allow you to achieve more in your life would be through the use of visualizations. Instead of sitting there and whining at the job, relax and feel yourself go through the entire process of the job right up to the stage of completion. Savor the satisfaction when you get the job done. Your visualization should be done in great detail including the materials and people whom you will need to get the job done. Thereafter, sit up and do the job the way you did it in your mind. You will find that doing the job is no longer as painful as before. At the same time, your visualization of success will only align your subconscious mind towards this direction. The resultant effect would be that your conscious mind takes the necessary actions that will get you to success.
Lastly, it would be a good idea to identify thoughts that distract you. Distracting thoughts often have the tendency to disrupt control of your mind. Getting rid of such thoughts would allow you to work on your subconscious mind in positive ways allowing you to get more in life.
Contrary to what most believe, mind control tricks are by no means mere evil tools used by people who want to manipulate others. When used correctly, it can be a powerful self-help tool for greater success in life.

How to Stay Motivated Around Negative People
The world is filled with a great deal of negativity at times. Negative people are those who see no hope for themselves and because they see none for themselves want to try to take hope from others by discouraging them. Negative people don't want to see you succeed because they haven't succeeded. Some negative people want to keep you where they are themselves: in the pit of self-pity and negativity; others are the loved ones that fear for you and don't believe you can succeed and they don't want to see you hurt, so they try to dissuade you from trying anything new.
Negative people are practically the most difficult kind of people to be around, especially when things are not going so well. Negative people complain about this or that and see problems or imperfections in almost everything. Negative people are the ones who are rude to the cashier or push their way through the line. They are the ones who don't have anything good to say about life, even when life has been good to them.
When things are going well, we can generally fend off negativity from within and without fairly easily. But when we hit a problem in life, negative people have a way of making things look worse. Their insight and advice generally make things appear to be worse than they actually are. The statements of negative people are frequently pointed at "you" , as in, " I told you you couldn't do it." The problem is that if you hear statements similar to this often enough you can actually start internalizing it, or believing it.
A really good way to stay motivated despite all the negativity in the world is to take responsibility for your life and your actions. When we take responsibility for our own lives and move forward toward our goals regardless of what others might think, especially those negative others, you can be positive. This movement forward generates motivation. A sense of pride in yourself will follow.
Another way to stay motivated when negative people are trying to discourage you is to know what you want out of life. This is related to taking responsibility for your life. If you really know what you want then no-one can discourage you from accomplishing it. Knowing what you want means knowing who are.
What happens sometimes is the negative person sees you moving forward, but rather than encourage you they will attempt to discourage you. When this happens it has to do with the negative person's jealousy. If this should be the case you need to separate yourself from that negative person. Don't listen to their negativity.
Belief is another weapon against the negativity of anyone around you. If you believe in yourself you can accomplish anything you put your mind to, regardless of what other people think. There are always going to be people who will attempt to steer you away from your goals by saying you don't have what it takes. However, when you reflect upon the belief of yourself you will find the motivation you need to push forward.
Goal setting is another way to overcome negative people and motivate yourself. When we set goals we set markers for ourselves. As we hit each marker we acquire a sense of accomplishment. This fuels our motivation. Negative people can steal your motivation away, if you let them. The key is not to let them do that, by utilizing strategies that keep your motivation intact. We can't avoid all the negative people in the world, but we can do things for ourselves to maintain our motivation.

Financial Independence Quotes
Shortly after I met my mentor he asked me, "Mr. Rohn, how much money have you saved and invested over the last six years?" And I said, "None." He then asked, "Who sold you on that plan?"
It is better to be a lender than a spender.
To become financially independent you must turn part of your income into capital; turn capital into enterprise; turn enterprise into profit; turn profit into investment; and turn investment into financial independence.
Financial independence is the ability to live from the income of your own personal resources.
If you depend on your company to take care of your retirement, your future income will be divided by five. Take care of it yourself, and you can multiply your future income by five.
I remember saying to my mentor, "If I had more money, I would have a better plan." He quickly responded, "I would suggest that if you had a better plan, you would have more money." You see, it's not the amount that counts; it's the plan that counts.
If you were to show me your current financial plan, would I get so excited by it that I would go across the country and lecture on it? If the answer is no, then here's my question: "Why not"? Why wouldn't you have a superior financial plan that is taking you to the places you want to go?
I used to say, "Things cost too much." Then my teacher straightened me out on that by saying, "The problem isn't that things cost too much. The problem is that you can't afford it." That's when I finally understood that the problem wasn't "it" – the problem was "me."
The Bible says that it is hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven. It doesn't say that it is impossible!
