How to Achieve Short Term Goals

It can feel like a daunting responsibility to embark on achieving your upcoming objectives. This overwhelming feeling can lead us to energetic stagnation making us confused and sad. Once these feelings take root we could benefit from an external boost to return to empowerment and mental clarity. Below are three steps that you can use to find your way out of the cloud to achieve your short term goals.

Move in the direction: Once you know the short term goal you want to achieve, start moving yourself physically in that direction. If you have a full-time job then, it is imperative that you begin to write a schedule of when you can do one or two objectives per week in the direction of accomplishing your short term goal. If you want to be a real estate agent then, you start by finding out what classes are available, what real estate trade organizations that you can join and read success stories to learn how others are thriving in your career aim. An important step towards achieving your short term goals is to move in the direction of what you want to do.

Gratitude Practice: When starting a journey to accomplish an objective it is easy to see what is missing or wrong with us. However, practicing gratitude keeps your mind open to possible opportunities and ideas that you would not receive if your mind is full replaying the lack and negative thoughts from your mental playlist. If you have a job that you do not like at this time, be grateful of the income that it provides that enables you to join a real estate organization and have access to all of its knowledge. Teaching your mind what to think and discard is a requirement when working toward short term goals. A success coach can show you how to work on discarding your negative thoughts.

Visualize: When you are sitting around and your mind drifts back to lack or 'what's wrong thoughts,' redirect them by seeing yourself living the life you want. If you need some help visualizing, write it down. The physical action of writing can lead your thoughts in the direction you want to go. Going back to the real estate example, if you want to become a real estate agent or broker in your area see yourself showing beautiful homes to prospective buyers. In your down time, watch Million Dollar Listing and see yourself showing and serving your clients excellently to get their dream home. These actions will support you in accomplishing your short term goals.
Although it is easy to agree with and believe the above steps are beneficial to reach short term goals, it is difficult sometimes to do them. Just as New Year's Eve resolutions, we start out well but then one thing leads to another, and we stop. We will write down our goals and resolutions, but not complete one thing we had listed. Before you realize it, one incomplete task becomes two then three. When this happens, contacting a success coach would be helpful. Success coaches can see your goals and co-create a plan of action when you feel confused on how to get started and support you in the process. Success coaches are your accountability partners; they believe that you can accomplish your goal, and they inspire you with ideas regarding actions you can take to reach your short term goals.
There is a practical approach to achieve your goals. Actions, thoughts and beliefs can turn your life around when they are all compatible and moving toward to the same aim. If you find that you are in need of support, you are among many that also have the same situation. If this happens contact a success coach to help you move forward, get clear, empowered and reach your short term goals.

Retrain the Brain for Success

Isn't it amazing how difficult it can be for any of us to change a bad habit or behavior? It can be a habit that is very simple such as losing your temper behind the wheel of a car or a more challenging one such as trying to break a serious addiction to say, smoking or over eating. Which ever it may be, it's important for you to know that you're not alone.

One reason why change can be so difficult is because we have engaged in the habit or behavior for so long, it has become second nature. It's almost like we're on "automatic pilot." As a result, we just engage in the behavior without thinking that we have a choice to do something different in the moment. We forget that we're blessed with a free will to choose.

Based on the research that's been conducted over the last twenty years on the brain, we now know much more about how the brain works. The benefit to this information is that we can begin to understand why we often do the things we do in regard to behavior and actions in our lives.

Various studies have shown that our conscious mind is only responsible for 2 - 4% of our thought patterns and behavior. This is why when we use will power and persistence to over come a bad habit or change a behavior, we usually have sub-par results. Short term the action or result may change but if we want to realize lasting change in our life, we must start at the beginning of the cycle, which is thought and behavior.

Recent brain research has shown that the subconscious or implicit memory system is responsible for up to 96% of our thought patterns and behavior. Based on the mechanics of the mind, if we really want to illicit change in our life, this is where we need to focus. As these studies are fairly new, just learning how to change our approach to habit and behavior is a re-learning experience in itself.

We begin to develop brain connections at a very early age, say five years old or so. When we develop brain connections, we are also creating what is referred to as cellular connections. Over time and repetition, the brain and cellular connections actually leave a foot print on our neural network in the brain. They become fixed in our subconscious and wha-la, we have developed a habit or behavioral pattern.

All success and happiness begins with your thoughts based on where you think you want to be in life. Your present circumstances will always control your thoughts and behavior based on your perception of reality, unless you're consciously aware of you're behavior. Studies indicate that all results are effects or a function of what we're thinking, feeling or doing based on our past.

So, what can we do to change our thought patterns and behavior? To change your thought patterns and behavior, you first need to recondition the thought patterns of your past. This is the key to realizing long lasting change. Because thought impacts emotions, what you end up feeling loops back to what you're thinking. As a result, you continue to repeat the behavior or action, which is why you end up with the same results based on your present circumstances.

It's a vicious circle but it doesn't always feel like one because we've become comfortable with the behavior. Over time we actually begin to accept that it's who we are. Believe it or not, we can experience joy from a negative or painful behavior based on our personal association with the behavior. If the behavior feels familiar, we become comfortable with it, so we think it's good for us. We feel secure and in control because it's a familiar emotion.

Your subconscious, which represents your interpretation of past events,is responsible for your perceptions, feelings and behavior in the present. I refer to these as The Big 3. To change the Big 3, we must change our self-image, habits and beliefs, The New 3. This is where you ReTrain the Brain!

Essentially, what you need to do is create a release program in your brain, which will allow you to recreate your self-image. To create a new self-image, we first need to create new patterns of thought and behavior. This can be achieved by experiencing new affirmations, as well as visualization or meditation. These new affirmations and visualizations need to be created with emotion. They need to become more real than your present circumstances in order for the new affirmations to over ride or recondition your thought patterns and behavior.

Daily repetition first thing in the morning upon rising and most importantly, lastly before you retire are key. Initially, this will require discipline on your part but the rewards are life changing. If you change the inside, your behavior, you'll begin to change the outside, your results. If you're willing to pay the price now i.e. discipline, you won't pay the price of regret later in your life.

Remember, if you change your habits, you can change your life!

Serious Motivation

If you want something bad enough, you can likely have it. But how do you get motivated enough to really take focused and consistent action?

First, write down your goal and list as many reasons as possible why you want to achieve it. Be brutally honest with yourself. If you are sick and tired of the status quo, write down the reasons why. Remind yourself of why you want to achieve this goal. This goal could be to get out of debt, to lose weight, to quit a bad habit, or to finish your degree. The philosopher, Nietzsche, said that a person can achieve any “how” if they have enough “why”. This is largely true.

Second, write down all the positive reasons why you will be happier after this goal is achieved. Keep these two lists and read them every day. Visualize life after your goal has been reached, and really feel the emotions associated with your goal, and the sights and sounds that go with it. Visualize people talking to you about your achievement.

You must be certain there are no inner conflicts in your mind about achieving your goal. You must decide to completely cut off negative influences and thoughts that can hold you back, like negative friends, etc.

Third, create a plan to achieve this goal. List items such as: what will you have to learn to achieve your goal, what obstacles do you face, when your goal must be reached by; concisely restate your current status as it pertains to your goal, who will help, and list the steps to achieve your goal.

Fourth, take action every day on your goal. Do as much as you can to help you with your goal each day, including: reviewing your reasons why you want your achievement, visualizing, seeking proper help, maintaining positive self talk, doing the work you need to do, engaging in intense workouts, and being wary of slipping back into debt, bad habits, etc. A good councilor could be a great help.

Fifth, associate with good and positive people with similar goals, beliefs, or people who have done what you intend to do. If you are serious about your goal, getting around the right people will be a boon to your success.

I truely hope you succeed!

Four Mind Control Secrets for Success

Mind control tricks often conjure negative images of people who achieve their goals at the expense of others through the use of techniques such as hypnosis. Such a judgment of mind control tricks is in many cases a sweeping statement and is untrue. In any case, the mind is an extremely powerful tool. According to Einstein, most human being use no more than 10% of his or her brain at any point in time throughout his or her lifetime. In this respect, mind control tricks can be used to develop success for you in life by allowing you to gain control and make better use of that unutilized 90% of your brain.
One of the most popular mind control tricks would be self hypnosis. This method of hypnosis is used to reprogram the brain with the subconscious mind and should be done positively to generate positive affirmations towards your subconscious mind. What we mean here is to make use of positive thoughts and emotions in order to program your subconscious mind in positive ways. This could be done through either a home-made hypnosis method or the purchase of a hypnosis CD available on the internet. For the former, relaxation and focus is the key as you speak and write positive affirmations in present tense. For the latter, follow the instructions in the CD. Generally it is recommended that you listen to such CDs in a relaxing environment which would allow you to keep your full attention on the hypnosis process.
Another helpful trick that is suitable especially for people who have plenty to remember in their day to day activities would be the use of mnemonics. This is a useful technique of memory retention and can take the form of either pictures, words or other similar associations. Using the first alphabet of each task to form a word can also be done for people who have many things to remember. Such methods are vital when you are caught with a situation where you do not have the ability to jot down the numerous tasks awaiting you.
A third way of controlling your mind to allow you to achieve more in your life would be through the use of visualizations. Instead of sitting there and whining at the job, relax and feel yourself go through the entire process of the job right up to the stage of completion. Savor the satisfaction when you get the job done. Your visualization should be done in great detail including the materials and people whom you will need to get the job done. Thereafter, sit up and do the job the way you did it in your mind. You will find that doing the job is no longer as painful as before. At the same time, your visualization of success will only align your subconscious mind towards this direction. The resultant effect would be that your conscious mind takes the necessary actions that will get you to success.
Lastly, it would be a good idea to identify thoughts that distract you. Distracting thoughts often have the tendency to disrupt control of your mind. Getting rid of such thoughts would allow you to work on your subconscious mind in positive ways allowing you to get more in life.
Contrary to what most believe, mind control tricks are by no means mere evil tools used by people who want to manipulate others. When used correctly, it can be a powerful self-help tool for greater success in life.
