A Major Skill for Today's World ...
... is to take the negative information, news, opinions, and emotions and channel them into doing good work.
Cronyism and shell games abound. But its essential not to get down.
Sure, professors and others will look you I'm the eye and lie. But know there is and are shell games and you need to expose them, be wary of them, and try to make them obsolete.
Don't delude yourself into thinking you have no help for wealth. People with serious problems like panic attacks and ulcers sometimes escape the rat race.
Anyway, take a look at the links above for MMU and the Yahoo group and see if those help. Yes its a lot of reading. But its much cheaper than mortgaging your future for political thought disquised as career or financial education.
Channel negative input into excellent valuable work

Escape the Rat Race: Tips for Joining the Power Elite
Reasons for the rat race
It doesn't really matter why things are the way they are to those who don't really want to change the way things are. People who are content to run the rat race day-in and day-out might be satisfied to complain or use cute sayings like "another day, another dollar," or - better yet - "another day, another doughnut." For many, however, that just isn't acceptable. The rat race is like history: those who do not know it, understand it, and learn from it are doomed to repeat it.
Supply and demand
A universal law exists that suggests that people demand things that are of insufficient supply. For example, no one would want gold if it was as plenteous as ordinary dirt because it would be like dirt to us. It would be worthless to us and we would not be special for having it. Gold is rare, however, meaning that people want it to enrich themselves and show themselves ant the world that they are special.
Inevitably, things that are in short supply come at a higher cost. An ounce of gold costs more than $1,000 for an ounce, but twenty pounds of dirt can sell for $5 or less. Imagine if there were as many 84" high definition television sets as there are aluminum cans. If this were the case, the TVs would cost about five cents and no one would feel special if they had one.
The excess demand for things that are in short supply makes prices high which in turn makes those things hard to get. There just isn't enough of everything good for everyone to have everything they want. That's why there is a rat race.
Human nature
Supply and demand is a direct result of human nature. People want good things. They want better things than they now have, and they tend to want them now. The problem is that a supply of a key ingredient of life is also in short supply: money.
The time/money continuum
Whoever made up the saying, "Time is money," was incredibly wise and succinct. To get more things, people need more money. To get more money, people need more time. Because of this we find workaholics who practically work around the clock trying to make more and more money. Of course the problem with that type of person is that they do not have the time they need to enjoy their money and the things they can get with it.
The Power Elite
The rat race gets even more complicated because of the existence of a group of people in the country and in the world called the Power Elite. These are a small group of people who have the enviable position of having more money than they know what to do with and can therefore enjoy life without any of the burdens associated with the rat race.
Unfortunately, the existence of the Power Elite makes the rat race more difficult and more commonplace for everyone else. This is because of supply and demand.
A small piece of the pie
The Power Elite are the 10% of American families that control more than 68% of American wealth. This means that 90% of American families are fighting each other for less than one-third of American resources. This means that - by the time those who can have all that they want actually get all that they want; there is only a tiny piece of the pie left for everyone else.
Getting out of the rat race
Politicians (who are almost all part of the Power Elite class) enjoy pitting the "rich" against the "poor" in order to build their power and to distract people from understanding one thing: the Power Elite do not want everyone to be as wealthy as they are and they will not yield their wealth or their power to anyone that is not in their class. This is why no matter how much politicians claim to raise taxes on the rich; the number of rich people never decreases and the rat race becomes more intense for most people.
This is because of supply and demand: if everyone had as much money and power as the Power Elite class has, than there would be nothing special about the Power Elite and they would neither have power nor be elite!
The answer is not to look to the government to "equalize" things because the Power Elite control the government and the "Power Elite" always look out for themselves first.
Although everyone cannot become part of the Power Elite class in either America or in the world, you can, but it's going to take a lot of hard work, a lot of cutting against the grain of society, and a lot of planning. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.
A few tips to get started
The transformation from being a person chasing after the crumbs left behind by the Power Elite to enjoying the life of abundance that the Power Elite have is not simple, easy or fast, so it's important to get started now with some simple tips:
1. Understand your predicament. Assess your debt, your income. Consider your skills and your talents. Think about how much your employer is gaining from your work and find ways to become your own boss. Put your income in your hands, under your control, not under the control of someone else.
2. Make goals. The reason why many people do not accomplish anything is because they never aim for anything. You might be busy. You might be tired. The rat race may have gotten the best of you, but things will never change until you set some goals and make some plans for achieving them.
3. Stop spending so much. As you plan ways to increase your income, find ways to cut costs too. Remember: you are not the government. You must be responsible for and careful with everything you have.
4. Save money, become flexible. By building up some wealth of your own, you can minimize the impact emergencies have on your life. You also reduce the control other people have over what you do, putting control back in your life. As long as you depend on someone else for your livelihood, you will be in the rat race. Turn the tables, become the boss, and see how good life can be!
Get out of your comfort zone today. Escape the rat race through goal setting and planning. You will be surprised at how great life can be!

Motivation and Reasons to Escape the Rat Race
The person who trained me at my night job was recently removed from the site for trivial offenses. Now he has a new site with the same company.
THIS GUY NOW WORKS 2 GRAVEYARDS, 2 SWINGSHIFTS, AND 1 DAY SHIFT!!!
Is that a screwed up schedule or what? To give a company ten good years and then get the shaft like that.
And he will not complain to the state about any of it.
Don't let this happen to you! Save money, learn to build a business, invest, LBYM, and be mindful of punks in the workplace.
Take a look at www.financialindependenceuniversity.com and make a plan for YOUR financial future. I guess we can't count on "reputable companies" anymore. Seniority is gone. Common sense and personal ethics are gone.
Abandon the "I'm not good enough" attitude and take charge of your life. I have had real good feedback from my site. While it obviously will not solve everyone's problems all the time, I suggest a look.
List your reasons for wanting to escape the rat race. BE COMPLETELY HONEST WITH YOURSELF, PLEASE!! Let the negative and the positive reasons drive you.
Best of luck.

Serious Motivation
First, write down your goal and list as many reasons as possible why you want to achieve it. Be brutally honest with yourself. If you are sick and tired of the status quo, write down the reasons why. Remind yourself of why you want to achieve this goal. This goal could be to get out of debt, to lose weight, to quit a bad habit, or to finish your degree. The philosopher, Nietzsche, said that a person can achieve any “how” if they have enough “why”. This is largely true.
Second, write down all the positive reasons why you will be happier after this goal is achieved. Keep these two lists and read them every day. Visualize life after your goal has been reached, and really feel the emotions associated with your goal, and the sights and sounds that go with it. Visualize people talking to you about your achievement.
You must be certain there are no inner conflicts in your mind about achieving your goal. You must decide to completely cut off negative influences and thoughts that can hold you back, like negative friends, etc.
Third, create a plan to achieve this goal. List items such as: what will you have to learn to achieve your goal, what obstacles do you face, when your goal must be reached by; concisely restate your current status as it pertains to your goal, who will help, and list the steps to achieve your goal.
Fourth, take action every day on your goal. Do as much as you can to help you with your goal each day, including: reviewing your reasons why you want your achievement, visualizing, seeking proper help, maintaining positive self talk, doing the work you need to do, engaging in intense workouts, and being wary of slipping back into debt, bad habits, etc. A good councilor could be a great help.
Fifth, associate with good and positive people with similar goals, beliefs, or people who have done what you intend to do. If you are serious about your goal, getting around the right people will be a boon to your success.
www.independentwealth.us will help you do what you need to do to escape the rat race.
I truely hope you succeed!

Recruiting for Your Mastermind
You have to be a leader to recruit. Be the man or woman with a plan. Be personable. Be a coach. Even if you are a leader, with coach like skills, you will encounter negativity, fear, complacency, and my favorite: what are the guaranteed benefits and income? Some people are kinda out there.
Who do you want to recruit? I cannot say. Recruit people similar to you. People with similar goals. Here are some possible traits of potential mastermind members:
1) Driven 2) Ambitious 3) Audacious 4) Thorough planner 5) Good communicator 6) Thorough knowledge of the market(s) you are in 7) Has an excellent attitude 8) Entrepreneurial. Is already in business 9) Someone with good accomplishments, and wants financial independence. 10) Specialized knowledge
Don't kid yourself about the person's capacity, attitude, etc. You could take on a project, though.
Be fully prepared to follow through on your plans of developing your mastermind. Remember, a leader has a plan. So, make sure you are prepared to execute, and improve your plans, using the feedback from your mastermind.

Go From Rags to Riches
If you are stuck in the rat race and getting kicked around by life, I ay be able to help you! There just may be hope.
The first thing is you have to set goals. Set goals that are worthwhile, realistic, but something you must really stretch yourself for. Set short term and long term goals. Set health goals, debt reduction and savings goals. Set any goal you need to set and write the goals down. Take a hard look at what you have to do to improve yourself enough to reach your goal. Be honest with yourself.
The second thing to do is to turn your drive time into learning time and turn idle time into learning or working time. Search for ideas you can apply to your situation. Take notes on your reading. Read about successful people and start to do some of what they do. Having good role models is important.
The third thing to do is to start a long term savings plan. Complement this plan by selling unwanted items and collectibles and then build an emergency fund, and/or invest. Make a detailed budget and figure out what you can save each payday. Don’t put 100% of your spare funds into your IRA. Have an emergency fund. Your IRA cannot be your emergency fund. If your job does not pay a livable wage, start search for a new or second job or start a small business on the side.
One of the most obvious things to do is to try to get a raise. Resolve to always be punctual. Try to improve your appearance. Don’t turn into a neurotic or pathological nut trying to catapult herself to CEO of the business. Just do a good job. Get a little bit better every day.
After saving up some money, having some goals under your belt and having a better reference from your employer, start learning new skills. Learn skills that will help you find your new job. You may want to learn computer programs, sales, Spanish, accounting, get the nuts and bolts of a skill and add the skills to your resume. Focus on something lucrative and focus on a field that is growing.
Be persistent. Don’t let one setback or a series of setbacks stop you! Keep plugging away. Don’t get frustrated or bent out of shape. Good luck!
David K Drews runs http://www.independentwealth.us/ a web site that will help you get out of the rat race. http://www.independentwealth.us/ offers a fairly large online community where you can make contacts and find motivation.
