How You - the Cutting Edge Person - Can Become a Billionaire or How To at Least Get Rich
My thinking, as of today:
You are responsible. Not your parents, boss, ex-spouse, stock broker, realtor, etc. You are responsible.
The next logical thing to do is clean house and get those barnacles off your ship. Get a concealed carry permit, if you need one.
Next, the fields. I'd look into the Internet, tech of all sorts, real estate, hedge funds (and funds for the masses), clean tech and environmental (waste disposal, recycling, etc), and maybe entertainment.
The governments like the industries above. They're worried about the environment. (Watch 'em burn us!)
Back to you are responsible...don't shack up with and make babies with looney disreputable people.
Anyway, get started doing the work you can and work all you can. Remember, it's not what you make that counts, it's what you keep.
One idea, to allow for scalability, is to hire a good employee and have them to most of your work while you work at growing the business, and taking it to the next level. If you have the work, you can hire 2 employees, etc.
Obviously, the more rewarding the work, in all senses of the word, the more you stand to make.
Oh, be sure from the beginning, that you have big trends and/ or big demands working in your favor. You could try to renew a dying industry or launch a short lived phenomenon, this could be worth a try. But, my thinking now is to see what you can bring your niche, your sector, your city, maybe, your whole demographic, etc. What are your best ideas, and inventions? You can launch more than one idea.
A question to ask is: does your product or service save the public, the government, or businesses a substantial amount of money, or provide security, increased health, etc? Well, the government over here in the states kinda likes to burn millions at a time on nonsense.
A related question to answer is: where do you find customers and how do you approach them correctly? What price is right? Is your product or service exactly right (tailored) enough for their needs? You have to do market research.
Keep current on all relevant trends and emerging technology that you can use, sell, improve on, and etc. You have to understand (ball park anyway) what it means. Keep in mind, things can change fast.
Forget degrees. Forget 95% of all thought and theory. You can Google and use amazon to find almost anything you need that can be read. Stay up and read how-to's ahead of time and as needed. Read legal statutes, statistics of all sorts could be useful, learn from autobiographies, read other peoples market research. Research your competitors, allies, and investigate leads and hunches as needed. In a nutshell, worthy employers don't need a cog with an MBA in this economic environment.
Learn by trial and error. Adopt a moral code if you don't have one. Be honest and fair with yourself and everyone else. Most of us can start by admitting we're rats in cages.
Don't be lazy. You may need to trade comfort for profit margins. All of this is up to you. Because you are responsible, no one else.
